Who is FICTIONWERKS? FICTIONWERKS is devoted to promoting, publishing and licensing the new media photo/digital artworks of Dale O'Dell. FICTIONWERKS is located in Prescott, Arizona. Whose art is this? All the images on the FICTIONWERKS website were created by Dale O'Dell. Click here for here biography.www.dalephoto.com/about.stm How ‘limited' is a limited-edition? Medium-sized works (11x14 inches – 13x19 inches) are limited to 250 prints. Each image also has 1–4 artists' proofs each. Larger scale prints are limited to an edition of 100 copies. With digital art, like traditional photography, there is no ‘one-of-a-kind original. The digital file, like a photographic negative, can be printed repeatedly. In order to enhance the ‘rarity' or ‘uniqueness' of each image, the number of prints is limited. Although computers and digital printers are used, each print is made individually by the artist in his studio. As editions sell out, prices increase. What is an open-edition? Open-edition prints are not limited in number. All of our small-sized prints (8½x11 inches or smaller) are open-editions. The UFO and Alien images are open-editions and are priced considerably less than limited editions. What is a Certificate of Authenticity? A Certificate of Authenticity is a document provided by the artist that states the edition size and the number of the print purchased. The Certificate also provides information on the process, copyright, the status of the digital file or negative, date of production etc. Each Certificate is signed by the artist and each print is signed, numbered and titled in the artists' own hand. What exactly is a Gicleé print and how long will it last? Gicleé is a French word meaning “sprayed ink.” Gicleé prints are made with inkjet printers such as the Iris™, Roland™ or Epson™. Dale O'Dell uses Epson Pigment printers on a variety of papers. Gicleés made using Pigment inks have the greatest “archival quality.” These prints, when framed under glass, should have a lifespan of fade-free color permanence of nearly 200 years. What other sizes are available? The dimensions listed for each print on the FICTIONWERKS website are image-sizes and are our ‘standard' size. Smaller open-editions are available as are large-scale limited-editions. Custom sizing is also available. Contact FICTIONWERKS for specific sizes and availability. Can you ship to foreign addresses?
